In-Flight Maneuver with Offboard Mode
Control software that takes a UAV flying a mission into offboard mode mid-flight via Python, steers it, and hands it back to the planned mission when stopped.
What I did
- In the normal flow, autonomous takeoff, route and landing are planned in QGroundControl and flown in mission mode.
- When activated mid-flight, my Python script switched the UAV to offboard mode and moved it 80 meters to the left or right on command.
- When the script stopped, the UAV returned to mission mode and continued its planned route.
- I validated offboard control in a real flight for the first time during pre-competition runway tests.
